Ribble Valley Radio Control Car Club

Ribble Valley Radio Controlled Car Club is a club which was created about 1997-1998 and even before that was a club called Preston Buggy Club. The club has had several venues over the years ranging between  Westview Leisure centre in Preston, Fullwood College in Preston and now Wellfield College in Leyland / Preston.

The Cars that we race are all Electric and are raced indoors. The type of car has varied over the years but at present we race:-

1/10th Buggies 2wd & 4wd

1/12th GT12 (Mardave & Schumacher Supastox)

The Track we race on is special Carpet (Prima Felt) and the overall track size is about 30 metres long and 10 metres wide with a minimum single lane width of 2 metres. Each Lane is divided by rectangular plastic piping which helps to segregate cars from each other.

We use BBKRC Timing to record Lap Times which requires cars to carry a transponder and these can be borrowed from the club.

The venue is open on most Friday nights from about 6:0pm until about 10:30pm with racing starting at 7:30pm.

Everyone is welcome to come and have a look, but remember anything that moves fast can hurt if it hits you so please stay behind the erected barriers.

RC Trucks Club - ( Only on Second Saturday of Each Month) These are not racing but are used and displayed on a Carpet with various  features such as a garage, quarry, roads and bridges etc...
